Quick note from Chengdu

So I don't have much time but thought I would just send a quick update.  We enjoyed our last few days in Xian and on Saturday put our great friend Jesse Liu on the train back to her hope town.  It was a bit sad - we had a great time together and made a great team.  Today - Sunday Oct. 3 we got up and made our way to the airport for our first flight in China!  We were a bit nervous but the airport was beautiful and the plane a pretty new Boeing 737 - the flight was great and we arrived in Chengdu with no problems.  We are staying at the hostel there - it is OK - they upgraded our room as they are full - it is pretty big with a Kang bed again! I am not sure how long they will let us keep it but it will be good for at least 2 nights and then we'll see. 

 

We hope to get laundry done this evening too!  What a treat.  We have agreed to have dinner with a French couple that we have been following for the last little while - they were in Pingyao, Xian and now here.  It should be fun!
